Founded in 2002, Lime Green is the UK's leading manufacturer of lime mortar, lime plaster, and lime render. We’ve also expanded our expertise by introducing specialist non-lime products and pioneering the use of natural wood fibre insulation.

State-of-the-Art Plant in Shropshire
Building on over 500 years of lime production heritage at Wenlock Edge, Lime Green has expanded and now has sites just outside Much Wenlock. A state-of-the-art mixing plant and a new office, training, and warehouse complex.
Our plant, which opened in 2018, received a substantial investment of nearly half a million pounds in 2023, with the introduction of a new mixer and mini mixer. A new automated packaging line was also added in early 2024, featuring an automatic bag filler, conveyor, and robot that efficiently lifts and shrink-wraps pallets. The result, the ability to triple production, reducing lead times and free up staff to work in other areas of the business.
Lime Green now has the capacity to manufacture hundreds of tonnes of material per week.
In 2024, we further expanded by acquiring a second site nearby, increasing our office and warehousing space while also adding new training and demonstration areas.

“Our plant is engineered for extreme precision, with some ingredients measured as accurately as 1 gram per tonne. This allows us to produce products with consistent quality over time while optimizing raw material and energy use. The bulk storage system is cleaner and safer, with materials stored in sealed, monitored silos. This has also significantly reduced HGV traffic and minimized packaging waste on-site.
Our plant's versatility allows us to seamlessly switch between products, from traditional Roman cement and limes to modern low-carbon binders. This flexibility is crucial in meeting the short lead times that many contractors face.”

For example, our Warmshell Internal not only adheres to the Government's best practice guidelines for insulating walls but is also the only system of its kind with a third-party BDA Agrément and an independent fire classification.
