Apply a pass of Solo One Coat Lime Plaster to the background. While it is tacky, push the Solo Mesh into the plaster in vertical strips. Smooth the mesh in from the top down, using a trowel, before applying the rest of the Solo over the top. Working across the wall, each strip of mesh should overlap the previous one by 100 mm. The mesh should sit in the outer half of plaster coat once it is fully finished.

Additional diagonal strips can be placed around openings and lintels and other higher stress areas.
